The small village of Vallon Pont d’Arc is peaceful in winter and becomes a stunning tourist resort as soon as spring begins. Vallon Pont d’Arc is located at the gateway to one of France’s most beautiful tourist attractions - the Gorges de l'Ardèche nature reserve. The famous Pont d'Arc, a natural 60m high bridge carved out by the Ardèche River, has Grand Site de France status, and gave the village its name. Vallon Pont d’Arc is also renowned for prehistory and cultural tourism. The Pont d’Arc Cavern is a decorated cave replica of Chauvet Cave, which has had UNESCO World Heritage status since June 2014.

The village market is held on Thursday mornings: speciality products include chestnut purée, goat’s cheese, honey, lavender and olive oil. Tours of the local vineyards, oil mills, olive groves.
